The latest seasonal allocations for March 2024 have been announced by the Storage Manager.

Only trace amounts of rainfall were recorded to storages during February with a high of 0.6 mm recorded at Moora Moora Reservoir and Lake Fyans (2% of their historic monthly averages). As a result, no inflow was recorded to reservoirs during February, with year-to-date inflow approximately 30% of the historic average. Allocation to Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline Product entitlements remained at 81%, the Glenelg River Compensation Flow and Wetlands entitlements remain at 26%, and the Recreation entitlement remains at 22%. No allocation has been made to the Commonwealth Environmental entitlement.

A revised system reserve rule came into effect in 2022/23, with 45,000 megalitres now in reserve. The revised rule shares the available water between entitlements and the system reserve as soon as allocations commence. The latest seasonal allocations for February 2024 have been announced by the Storage Manager.

Inflow to reservoirs during January was approximately 78% of average, with year-to-date inflow approximately 31% of the historic average. Allocation to Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline Product entitlements increase by 6% (81% to 87%), with increases to the Glenelg River Compensation Flow and Wetlands entitlements (from 26% to 49%), as well as a 24% allocation increase to the Recreation entitlement (from 22% to 46%). No allocation has been possible yet to Commonwealth Environmental entitlement.

A revised system reserve rule came into effect in 2022/23, with 45,000 megalitres now in reserve. The revised rule shares the available water between entitlements and the system reserve as soon as allocations commence. Allocation to Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline Product entitlements remained at 81%, with small increases to the Glenelg River Compensation Flow and Wetlands entitlements (from 25% to 26%), as well as a 2% allocation increase to the Recreation entitlement (from 20% to 22%). No allocation has been possible yet to Commonwealth Environmental entitlement.

The latest seasonal allocations for September 2023 have been announced by the Storage Manager.

Inflow to reservoirs during August was approximately 23% of average, with reservoirs increasing by around 8,480 ML over the past month. This has been sufficient for an 81% allocation to be made to Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline Product entitlements this month (2% increase). The resource improvement has also allowed for a 25% allocation to the Glenelg River Compensation Flow and Wetlands entitlements (2% increase), as well as a 20% allocation to the Recreation entitlement (1% increase). No allocation has been possible yet to Commonwealth Environmental entitlement.

A revised system reserve rule came into effect in 2022/23, with 27,550 megalitres now in reserve. The revised rule shares the available water between entitlements and the system reserve as soon as allocations commence.
